Corpse Party Tortured Souls

Turn back now if you can't stand blood and gore.

An amazing anime, that has only 4 episodes. There's as well Corpse Party Lost Footage, which i have not yet watched.

The whole story starts off at school, where the characters tell scary stories. It's all part of the farewell party for a fellow classmate. As a parting gift, Shinosaki (i believe it was her?) decides to do a ritual, which supposedly keeps their friendship alive, and as far as they may be, they are always connected. In order to do this ritual, everyone grasps a hold of a humanoid looking piece of paper, said "Sachiko, we beg of you" for 9 times and then tear a piece off.

Something goes wrong. They end up in an closed nexus (similar places, but never meets one another). And then all kinds of things start to go down.

The anime and the game aren't exactly the same. There are some major differences, but that doesn't change the fact, it can be quite unnerving. The main storyline still is the same.

Now, time to kick off the pros and cons list:

Pros:

  • Realistic response to certain event.
  • The comparison between sanity and insanity.
  • Age doesn't matter. If you got there, you'll get killed. (Small spoiler for you there).
  • Characters have needs (food, bathroom, sleep etc.)
  • Creepy environment
  • VERY well drawn gore.
Cons:
  • ???

In overall, this one gets 10/10. It's a must see for gore and blood lovers. You are gonna love this one.

PS. The first time i watched the game (it's pixel game), the storyline was so powerful, that i couldn't sleep. They have left a lot of storyline out of the anime, but still, they've done a damn good job creating it. Bravo *Slow clap*!

Zettai Karen Children: The Unlimited - Hyoubu Kyousuke

This one has to be one of my all time favorites! I love superpowers, and this anime has it. Sure, Hyoubu may be overpowered, but the storyline totally equalizes it out.

The anime itself has 12 episodes, but is always progressing. The anime doesn't exactly follow a person. At points, it follows Andy Hinomiya, then Hyoubu, then Yuugiri and so on. And i think it's a rather fine setup.

It also has a great intro. Short, but awesome (50 sec, if i recall correctly)

I didn't find a certain scene, but here's the first episode that starts off with a fight right away.

Pros:

  • Great storyline!
  • Cool intro
  • Well drawn effects + Environment
  • No specific main character
  • Thr~~iller! You just can't stop watching it.
Cons:
  • Too short, wish they would've continued.

This anime for me was perfect. When it ended, i was like "What am i supposed to do with my life now?". 10/10! Great job, all who worked on this anime!

Earth and Heaven (Tenjou tenge)

An action, fighting, school life, romance anime with a damn addictive intro!
I'm no intro watcher, but i watched EVERY intro on this one. I mean look at it! It's simple and damn effective, not to mention the great song in the background. And look at those freaking moves! Look at them! How much better can it get? Learn from it, intro makers!

Now, back to the main topic.
The story follows a boy called "Souichiro Nagi", whos primary goal was to go from school to school and beat people up. He thought himself strong until he landed on the wrong school. Just a few minutes later after beating up some students, he himself gets blown out of the window (and miraculously lands on a girl who is showering, how much more convinient can it get?). At lunch time, he gets beat-- or should i say, destroyed (he lost pretty bad) by a side character called "Masataka Takayanagi".
After all those defeats, he decides to start training, making a promise that in 3 months, he'll be stronger than any of them.

Pros:

  • Sweet intro
  • A bit odd storyline, but worth following! (Real long fillers)
  • The conscept of Chi/Qi (energy in overall)
  • Fighting scenes
Cons:
  • They totally ignored side characters! (My favorite was Masataka, whom they totally ignored)
  • A bit repetitive parts
In overall, it was a fine anime. Average, so to speak. 5/10!

Amnesia

I'm amazed that i even finished that damn anime. IT WAS SO BORING! The whole story circles around a girl who "lost" her memories and tries to regain them.

Pros: NONE

Cons:
  • The main character is freaking retarded. Every time she is in a new reality (a little spoiler there for ya), she just stands around when meeting this guy who knows all about it. ASK FFS!
  • Not much else really happens.

This anime gets 0/10. Totally worthless anime.

Blood C

Blood C -- I'm not sure what exacty to say about this.
Let's see then... the story is about a girl who kills these creatures called "Elder bairns". Goes to school like anyone else but quite soon her life gets turned upside down.

Pros:

  • Awesome fighting animation.
  • Different atmosphere.
Cons:
  • Story is too slow. The main and side characters at some points seem like complete retards that make you yell at them.
  • Real story picks up at the end. It's like the episodes from 2 to 10 are totally pointless.
  • When the story gets interesting, it gets cut off (*refers to the ending*).

The most i can give to this anime is a shameful 3/10. The creators seriously need to think it through before doing something.

Shinsekai Yori

Also known as "From the new world".
The anime has a total of 25 episodes. Can't say that i loved it, but it was above average.

Here's a quick description from MyAnimeList:

Synopsis

A millennium from now, in Japan, exists a utopia. The Protagonist, Saki Watanabe, lives in an idyllic village barred from the outside world. Her world is ruled by the people who possess the "gods' power" of psychokinesis. After finally obtaining her own powers, Saki enters the Zenjin Academy to train along with five other children: Satoru Asahina, Maria Akizuki, Mamoru Itou, Shun Aonuma, and Reiko Amano.

Not all is as it seems, however. In this utopian village, strange rumors about a monstrous cat that abducts children circulate, and students are said to disappear from the academy. The world and its history are much darker than they appear and humanity is on the verge of collapse.

Describes quite well the first few episodes, but gets much darker later on.
I do not wish do spoil the content, so i'll kick off the pro's and con's list.

Pros:

  • Beautiful background and environment in overall.
  • The effects are quite well made.
  • Storyline is rather well planned out.
  • Embraces the weird and unusual parts of humanity.
  • Comparison between humans and other creatures.
  • Sudden twists in the story.
  • No Intro.
  • Music is perfectly balanced and timed.

Cons:

  • A bit slow storyline.
  • Repetitive parts.
  • Avoiding the conscept of "demons".
  • Episodes that are simply boring to watch since nothing serious happens.

In overall, i'm not sure what to give it. It didn't exactly make you feel like "I must know what happens next", but didn't quite let you go either.

I'd say 6.5 out of 10.
